Aptana Studio supports the Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems.
Supported Operating Systems and Architectures
- Windows - x86 architecture
- Mac OS - OS X \ PowerPC architecture, OS X \ Intel architecture. OS X 10.4 or later
- Linux - x86 architecture, GTK windowing system
Hardware Recommendations
Aptana Studio will run on most modern hardware, but for best performance, we recommend the following resources for each platform:
- Windows - 512 MB RAM, Pentium 4-level processor
- Mac OS - 512 MB RAM, G5 or Intel-based machine
- Linux - 512 MB RAM, Pentium 4-level processor
JRE
Using Aptana Studio requires you to have v1.5.0 or later of the Java JRE installed on your computer.
- Windows and Linux: You need to download the JRE separately from Sun if one is not already present on your system.
- Mac OS X: Not supplied because an appropriate JRE is included.
To determine which JVM you are using, check your log file (see Accessing your Aptana log), and look for the following entries:
java.version=[Version will be here] java.vendor=[Vendor name will be here]
